Fees Waived at Alexandria Animal Welfare League Adoption Event | WDVM25 and DCW50

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WDVM) – The Alexandria Animal Welfare League is hosting an adoption event to place their greatest furry friends into loving homes.

Over a dozen dogs are available for adoption at the event.

“Our goal this weekend is to help over a dozen of our biggest puppies find amazing homes,” said Gina Hardter, Director of Marketing and Communications, Animal Welfare of Alexandria.

Animals weighing over 30 pounds are all up for adoption to highlight often overlooked larger dogs, like 2-year-old Arnold, who needs a home.

“Arnold is one of the dogs we hope will be adopted. He has been with us since early November and we really hope he can be reunited with his family,” said Sean Furmage, Adoption Manager, Animal Welfare League of Alexandria.

The shelter cares for more than 2,000 animals a year, and organizers say they hope to get their biggest puppies adopted.

Fees are waived for all animals weighing more than 30 pounds until February 21. For more information, visit www.alexandriaanimals.org.
