The University of Montevallo waives ACT/SAT scores for admission

The University of Montevallo will continue to waive the ACT/SAT test score requirement for admission until the fall 2024 semester. The university will continue to offer scholarships based on students’ high school GPAs. UM had decided in September 2020 to waive admissions test score requirements due to the cancellation and limited availability of standardized tests due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “Extending the optional testing policy for another two years gives UM the opportunity to make more informed decisions about the future of our admissions and scholarship processes,” said UM’s Director of Admissions, Audrey Crawford The university will award scholarships to students without test scores who have at least a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0.

“Extending the optional testing policy for two more years gives UM the opportunity to make more informed decisions about the future of our admissions and scholarship processes,” said UM’s Director of Admissions, Audrey Crawford.

Students who do not submit ACT or SAT test scores when applying for a term through Fall 2024 will not be disadvantaged in the application or scholarship review process.

The university will award scholarships to students without test scores who have at least a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0.
