Who should Texans claim?
The one thing Bill O’Brien couldn’t trade for Laremy Tunsil’s green fees was the Houston Texans’ 2021 waiver order.
Much like a draft order, the waiver order is organized by the team with the worst case file first, and so on. The Texans thus occupy third place in the order of waiver transfers.
This is one of the ways the NFL is doing what it can to make sure its clubs stay around .500, providing a competitive advantage and keeping teams out of the gutter in the long run.
The only teams ahead of the Texans are the Jacksonville Jaguars and the New York Jets. If another team claims the following players, the tie goes to the Texans because of their placement on the surrender order.
Here are the July 16 waivers Houston should consider.
